Job description

Rare opportunity to join a referral-only, niche musculoskeletal clinic with no weekends or OOH. Focused, rewarding caseload in a calm, structured setting.

We’re proud to be working exclusively on a unique and highly rewarding role for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for small animal orthopaedics, pain management, and musculoskeletal care.

This independently owned service operates in a referral-only capacity—providing structured, elective treatment pathways without the pressures of emergency or out-of-hours commitments. It’s a fantastic opportunity to refine your skills and work in a calm, focused environment centred on patient outcomes and long-term mobility management.

About the Role:

Monday to Friday rota, offering excellent work-life balance

Elective-only mornings, focused on joint and epidural injections

Afternoons structured around 1-hour consultations or 30-minute review appointme

Clients are typically self-referrals who’ve heard of the service through word-of-mouth or physiotherapists; formal vet referrals are required for treatment

You’ll produce detailed post-consultation reports and clinical plans

Many veterinary surgeons now refer directly based on strong results and communication

Soft tissue concerns are referred internally to a visiting imager for MSK ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections every other week

Caseload includes:

~70% mobility (osteoarthritis & MSK disorders)

~20% behavioural (where clinical exams are restricted for safety)

~10% working dog monitoring (tracking gait deviations for early intervention)

What We’re Looking For:

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with interest or experience in orthopaedics or pain management

Experience in joint or epidural injections is a plus (training available)

Confident communicator with an evidence-based, structured approach to care

Someone who values quality, trust-building, and clinical outcomes over volume

What’s on Offer:

Salary up to £55,000 DOE

10% bonus based on clear KPIs tied to clinical and financial performance

No weekend, emergency, or out-of-hours commitments

Calm, professional referral environment with time to focus on each case

Located in the East Midlands with good transport links

CPD encouraged and supported

Work with a supportive, experienced team in a truly unique clinical niche
