Are you seeking a fulfilling role that offers work-life balance in the picturesque village of Holmes Chapel, Cheshire? Look no further than Cheshire Pet, where we're seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team for maternity cover from the beginning of January.

The role will be largely based at our well established Holmes Chapel practice, with some hours at a growing branch in nearby WInsford. Nestled just a mile from junction 18 of the M6, with easy access to Manchester Piccadilly and Chester via the village train station, our practice provides an ideal setting for veterinary professionals who value both professional excellence and a relaxed lifestyle

Practice Highlights

At Cheshire Pet, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where every team member feels valued and respected. Our dedicated team of veterinary professionals enjoys working together to provide exceptional care to our beloved clients and their pets.

With two exotic certificate holders, alongside two other experienced small-animal veterinarians, our team boasts a wealth of expertise and knowledge. About the role: Join us in our purpose-built clinic, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, and dental x-ray

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Key Responsibilities

As a full-time Veterinary Surgeon, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our skilled team, providing first opinion veterinary care to our loyal client base.

With a 4 day week, and a 1:5 Saturday morning shift, you'll have the chance to maintain a healthy work-life balance while honing your skills and expanding your knowledge.

We're seeking a colleague who shares our commitment to excellence and compassionate care. If you're passionate about veterinary medicine and eager to contribute to a supportive team environment, we want to hear from you. We would consider any level of experience, there could be the opportunity to build experience with exotic pets if desired, but would also suit someone wanting to spend 100% of their day treating dogs and cats!

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
