Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Callington
A well-loved and long established RCVS accredited practice in Callington, Cornwall, is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their thriving and friendly team. With over 65 years of dedicated care to pets and farm species across Devon and Cornwall, this practice is steeped in community trust and clinical excellence.
You’ll be joining a team of 8 vets and a large, outstanding support crew made up of passionate RVNs, student nurses, and welcoming receptionists. The practice boasts a diagnostic imaging certificate holder, vets with specialist interests including medicine and dentistry, and a growing number of nurses pursuing further qualifications. Weekly clinical meetings foster a culture of support, development, and shared learning—everyone helps one another and truly thrives together.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone confident in both medical and surgical work, who enjoys seeing cases through, developing strong client relationships, and mentoring newer colleagues. With access to excellent referral networks, there’s freedom to work up complex cases while being part of a family atmosphere where team socials and shared successes are a regular feature.
Career development is a top priority, with a generous CPD budget and support for certificates and special interests. Whether you're refining your surgical skills or diving deeper into internal medicine, you’ll have the tools and mentorship you need.
Callington itself is a gem—nestled between Dartmoor and the Cornish coast, it offers beautiful countryside living with great local amenities, making it an ideal place for those seeking both professional growth and a balanced lifestyle.
If you're a confident and compassionate vet who values collaboration, communication, and community, this could be your perfect next chapter!
