About the opportunity:

We’re looking for enthusiastic and friendly vets with a variety of experience to join our growing independent team of 8+ vets.

We focus on team harmony, support and a great work life balance – no OOH, no weekends, 38hrs over 4 fixed days rota. Flexible options available – part time (2 or 3 days/week) easily accommodated.

For the less experienced applicants – there is an experienced team around you with several of our vets with 15+ years experience, including surgical and dental certificate holders. For the more experienced applicants – a chance to mentor and work with new graduates or enjoy a greater work life balance!

We offer unlimited CPD allowances and a chance to be part of practice decision making – we’re independent and constantly make changes to how we work based on our collective needs and desires. Our 8+ Vet and 10+ Nurse team feedback drives how we organise the diary and our team which is flexible and suits practitioners interests.

Last appointments are at 5:45pm, 45 minutes before the day ends so you usually end up working sub-38 hours, plus time kept aside for catching up during the day. Assigned regular non-clinical CPD/meetings/get together in work hours where we close for ‘training time’ – everything from morbidity and mortality meetings, general case discussion and/or the chance to catch up on CPD.

About Us:

We are a fantastic team of 10 nurses – we have trained a number of our own nurses over the years and now have two RVNs with over 20 years with us and several more team members crossing the 10 year mark. An amazing and dedicated experienced reception team who constantly get feedback off clients about how well they help out – they make the day easier!

Our team love getting together outside of the practice with regular practice outings. Ziplining, gorge walking, cocktail making, escape rooms and social darts are some of our recent events! We are frequently joined on these by regular locums and even former team members. We’re a well-equipped first opinion practice across two sites – each fully equipped and standalone. The Tonypandy clinic was purpose built and is over twice the size of the ‘average’ first opinion practice. The Treforest clinic has just finished a £300,000+ renovation and extension including an almost total refresh of all equipment. Career progression opportunities are available – we encourage clinical and non-clinical development, certificates, mentoring of colleagues and developing your own interests. We have some vets who focus on surgery, some on consults and welcome more variety.

We are easily commutable from Cardiff (many of our vets live here) and the M4 corridor – we’re a short distance from both some of the best hiking in the UK in the Beacons and beaches a short way South.

Salary DoE from £45,000 to £70,000 + yearly reviews – we usually step up £3k/year of experience
