A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon in a highly reputable practice in the Callington area of Cornwall. The practice is seeking a dedicated professional who is keen to become part of a hardworking team and contribute to the outstanding care they have been providing for over 65 years.

The Role:

  • The role is full-time and includes participation in a Saturday rota.
  • The successful candidate will be based at their three branches in Cornwall.
  • There will be occasional out-of-hours inpatient care.

The Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will be confident in all standard Small Animal Vet duties, able to take sole charge, and deliver excellent client service.
  • A key part of the role is mentoring and guiding new and recent graduates, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.

  • The practice has three small animal branches and two farm branches, with the majority of services based out of Callington.
  • It is equipped to work up medical and surgical cases and maintains good relationships with local referral practices.
  • The team comprises eight vets, with an excellent support team of nurses and receptionists. Weekly clinical meetings promote a strong team ethos, and the practice fosters a family atmosphere with social activities planned throughout the year.
  • The practice is located in an area rich in history and outdoor activities, with beautiful beaches, coastal walks, and Dartmoor just a short distance away. For those who enjoy city life, Plymouth is within easy reach.

Salary: The position offers a salary range of £44,000 – £60,000 p/a depending on experience and qualifications.
