Job description

Veterinary Surgeon – Flexible Hours, Supportive Team, Exciting Opportunities

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to thrive in a supportive, forward-thinking practice? We have a fantastic opportunity for a vet who enjoys a varied caseload, values clinical freedom, and is eager to grow their skills in a friendly and progressive environment.

**To apply, or for more information, please send your CV to scott@redsector.co.uk. All applicants must be eligible for RCVS registration**

About the Role:
We’re seeking a confident and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time role (40 hours over 4 days), though part-time applicants (2–3 days/week) are very welcome to apply. We operate Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 18:30, and Saturdays on a 1 in 4 rota (09:00 – 13:00). There is no out-of-hours at present, though this may change in the future.

What You'll Be Doing:
You’ll be working across a range of small animal cases – from routine procedures and emergencies to more complex surgeries. We actively encourage in-house advanced procedures, tailored to your skills and interests, with plenty of scope to expand your surgical repertoire. We're currently investing in new equipment, so there are exciting tools and toys on the way!

Our Facilities Include:

  • Dedicated theatre
  • Ultrasound
  • Digital X-ray
  • Full IDEXX in-house laboratory
  • Separate dog and cat wards
  • Nurse-led clinics
  • And more on the horizon!

Our Brilliant Team:
You’ll be part of a close-knit, experienced team including:

  • 3 Vets
  • 1 Head RVN
  • 2 Full-time RVNs
  • 1 Part-time RVN
  • 1 SVN
  • 2 Receptionists
  • 1 Practice Manager

We hold weekly vet meetings and work collaboratively to ensure everyone’s voice is heard and supported. Clinical freedom is highly valued, and certificate holders (or those working towards one) are strongly encouraged.

What We Offer:

  • Salary up to £70,000 per annum (DOE)
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave
  • Bank holidays off
  • 15-minute consults
  • Generous staff discounts
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Extensive CPD allowance (certificates funded and encouraged)
  • Complete clinical freedom
  • Supportive, kind-hearted team culture

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a proactive, team-focused vet who is confident working in a busy small animal practice and can manage occasional independent work at a branch surgery. You should be committed to delivering excellent patient care with empathy and professionalism.

Why Join Us?
We’re proudly independent and run by experienced veterinary professionals who are passionate about offering the highest standard of care to pets and their people. Our ethos is rooted in compassion, quality, and a commitment to both our patients and our team.

If you’re looking for a practice where your ideas are welcomed, your development is supported, and your wellbeing is valued – we’d love to hear from you.
