Job description

Hamilton Specialist Referrals, High Wycombe, South East

If you gave a passion for animal welfare, or are looking to undertake a new challenge in your career? Do you want to be part of an established, multi-discipline referral centre? Do you enjoy working in a small, friendly and fun team?

We are now seeking a Veterinary Physiotherapist to support our passionate and friendly rehabilitation team.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and approachable person who is a great team player but is also able to use their own initiative and self-motivate. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task with a flexible approach to working are a must.

The ideal candidate for this role will have comprehensive breadth and depth of knowledge and post-qualification experience of performing physiotherapy in small animals. Experience of working within a veterinary referral centre is desirable but not essential.

Part time hours – 24-30 hours per week - across Monday, Tuesday & Friday. Some weekend work may be required.

Please note, candidates must be able to work in the UK independently, as we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.

This role would be ideal for someone looking for career progression in the veterinary industry in a nurturing and fun environment.

  • Provision of physiotherapy to patients within the hospital and on an out-patient basis.
  • Liaison with clinicians, veterinary nurses, and owners to ensure a coherent patient care plan.
  • Contribution to the implementation and validation of clinical quality assurance measures.
  • Communication and provision of advice to owners of patients, including emotional support.
  • Responsibility for ensuring equipment within the area of specialism is maintained and for sourcing new equipment when required.
  • Ensuring that all patients treatments are charged and paid for at the time.
  • Participation in the out-patient clinic and maintaining patient records, ensuring that all documents are completed.
  • Assisting with data collection for gait analysis, teaching and research purposes.
Work with cutting-edge facilities

Situated just outside of High Wycombe (J4, M40), Buckinghamshire, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR) is a purpose-built, state of the art veterinary hospital that provides the latest in specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility.

The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and can offer the most advanced treatment options available for Orthopaedic, Neurology, Soft Tissue, Oncology, and Internal Medicine cases. There is a 1.5T high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerised tomography (CT) suite on-site, and the hospital has invested in the latest direct digital radiography systems (also known as radiographs or X-rays) (DR). We routinely use computerised gait analysis to aid in the diagnosis of complex multi-limb lameness and employ the same technology to monitor recovery from surgery. This individual approach to post-operative rehabilitation optimises outcomes and shortens recovery times. Despite working within such a large team, we pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly and supportive culture with a focus on development, clinical excellence, and gold standard patient care.

We recently opened a state of the art HDU unit, a remarkable addition that significantly elevates the level of care and support we can offer to our valued patients. This exciting enhancement is a testament to our steadfast commitment to our patients wellbeing and recovery. With cutting edge technology and a compassionate approach, we're setting new standards in patient care excellence.

A Collaborative Environment

Be part of a supportive and collaborative team where your contributions are valued. Our clinic fosters an environment of continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring that you thrive both personally and as a vital member of our veterinary family. What You'll Need

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
