Job description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Audiologist seeking a new challenge to provide Audiology services within the Moray region. The post-holder will be based in Elgin but shall also participate in peripheral clinics throughout the region.

The department has a friendly and highly committed team with a wide range of responsibilities covering the entirety of Audiology for adults and children throughout the Moray region. Clinical services include adult and paediatric assessment and rehabilitation, as well as tinnitus management.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver effective care and would also have scope to develop their clinical skills in areas of particular interest. The post will have a strong emphasis on adult-based care, although there would be scope for participation in paediatric services. 2-years clinical experience would be essential for the post whilst experience in tinnitus and paediatric practices would be desirable attributes although not essential.

The preferred applicant must hold a BSc in Audiology or equivalent and AHCS registration is preferred. The department would consider applications from Audiologists with less experience who would be employed under Annex 21 Agenda for Change with the aim of delivering comprehensive training to develop sub-specialty skills and progress to full band 6 within 1 year.

This area of Scotland is particularly rich in natural beauty with numerous opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. Aberdeen and Inverness are readily accessible with excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and beyond.
