Job summary

Joseph Gallagher Limited is seeking an experienced Slinger/Signaller to join our Southampton site on a full-time basis. The role involves attaching and detaching loads from lifting equipment, directing safe movement with radio or hand signals, and carrying out pre-start checks according to the lifting plan.

The ideal candidate will hold Blue CPCS A40 (Slinger) and have experience with various lifting accessories, with a strong emphasis on health and safety and compliance with site rules.

Qualifications

• Blue CPCS A40 (Slinger) – All Types All Duties
• Confined Space Medium Risk - Essential
• In-date Safety Critical Medical (Desirable)
• Must have significant experience as Slinger/Signaller

Responsibilities

• Attach and detach loads from lifting equipment as required
• Ensure correct use of lifting accessories and equipment
• Direct safe movement of equipment and load using radio or hand signals
• Follow lifting plan and report concerns to Crane Supervisor
• Carry out checks on lifting equipment before work begins
• Adhere to Health and Safety procedures at all times

• Responsible for attaching and detaching the loads from the lifting equipment
• Ensuring correct use of lifting accessories and equipment
• Directing safe movement of equipment and load using a radio or hand signals
• Follow the lifting plan set out and immediately relay any concerns to the Crane Supervisor
• Carry out checks on all relevant lifting equipment before the work begins
• Always follow Health and Safety procedures
