Job summary

Joseph Gallagher Group in Southampton is seeking an experienced Slinger/Signaller to support site lifting operations. You will attach/detach loads, direct movements using hand signals or radio, and ensure safe use of lifting equipment in line with the lifting plan.

Applicants must have Blue CPCS A40 (Slinger) and a current Safety Critical Medical; Confined Space training is essential, with a strong emphasis on health and safety and site rules. References may be requested.

Qualifications

• Blue CPCS A40 (Slinger) (All Types) required or essential.
• Confined Space Medium Risk training is essential.
• In-date Safety Critical Medical is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attach and detach loads from lifting equipment.
• Ensure correct use of lifting accessories and equipment.
• Direct safe movement of equipment and load using radio or hand signals.
• Follow the lifting plan and relay concerns to the Crane Supervisor.
• Carry out checks on lifting equipment before work begins.
• Always follow Health and Safety procedures.
