Sliding Head Operator Setter, Operator & Programmer (Citizen Lathes)

Location: Essex  Pay Rate: £18 £20 per hour + Overtime (1.5x)  Hours: Monday Thursday: 7am 4pm, Friday: 7am 12pm  Holidays: 5 weeks paid holiday

Hudson Shribman is seeking a skilled Sliding Head Operator to join a precision engineering firm supplying high-spec components to aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. You ll be working on Citizen sliding head lathes, known for their high-speed, multi-axis capabilities and Fanuc control systems, producing small to medium batch components with tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and program Citizen CNC sliding head lathes (Fanuc controls)
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Make in-process adjustments to maintain precision and quality
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
• Collaborate with QC and support teams to ensure production standards
• Experience with STAR sliding head machines is a bonus
