Job description

Job Title: Sliding Head Lathe - Programmer / Setter / Operator (day shift)
Location: Ely
Salary: £17-£18 p/h

Technique Recruitment Solutions are working with a leading precision engineering company who have a permanent vacancy for a turner capable of programming, setting and operating our 4 Star Sliding Head machines: SR20, SV20, SR32J & SR20JII type B.
This position will be machining a wide variety of components from a range of different, and sometimes difficult materials, to tight tolerances and finishing parts to the required specification.

The Role
  1. Quick turnaround set/run on small batch quantities.
  2. To be able to produce first run prototypes.
  3. Oversee unmanned/lights out machining.
  4. You will be able to read and understand complex drawings and have a good eye for detail.
  5. Must work well within a team.
  6. Have good problem-solving ideas.

Responsibilities:
  1. Review parts produced, drawings or instructions to understand required specifications.
  2. Be responsible for own quality recording outputs to drawing specifications.
  3. Monitor machine while working to achieve optimum outputs.
  4. Always looking for continuous improvement in all processes.
