SLD Teacher

Are you a passionate and dedicated SLD Teacher looking to make a real impact? Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently working on behalf of a fantastic educational institution in Walsall to recruit an enthusiastic SLD Teacher ready to support and inspire students with specific learning disabilities.

About the Role:

As an SLD Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a sensory and varied curriculum to Key Stage 2 pupils with a range of complex needs including sensory processing difficulties, hearing or visual impairments, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. You will create highly personalised learning experiences that support academic achievement, communication, and cognitive development.

We are looking for an SLD Teacher who is confident in working with students with SLD and PMLD needs, and who can provide both educational and pastoral support. Your ability to motivate and encourage progress will be key to helping each child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, and families.
  • Track and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience as an SLD Teacher or working with children with specific learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for special education.
