Job Introduction

Due to continuing growth, we are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician to join Listers, our Skoda dealership in Coventry. The hours of work are 08:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays on a rota basis.

We offer an excellent basic salary with OTE up to £42,000 plus benefits. Our packages and pay plans are industry-leading and reflect each applicant's experience and skillset.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Servicing, repairing, and diagnosing all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard first time.
  2. Performing electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts, and air conditioning servicing.
  3. Additional responsibilities include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles, using electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on batteries, drive motors, auxiliary drive packs, and control systems.
  4. Fitting manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  5. Understanding customer satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  6. Operating additional systems such as video reporting (e.g., CitNOW).
  7. Completing all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards.
  8. Collaborating with workshop team members to share knowledge and learn continuously.
About You
  1. Candidates from all backgrounds with experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester, or Apprentice Vehicle Technician are encouraged to apply.
  2. Experience in independent garages, fast fit centres, car supermarkets, or main dealerships is suitable.
  3. Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or working towards it.
  4. Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualifications are advantageous but not essential; full training provided.
  5. MOT license is beneficial but not essential.
  6. Full UK Driving license.
  7. Demonstrated good mechanical and electrical knowledge and ability to ensure high standards of work.
