About The Role

As a Skip & Roro Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of waste materials to and from our waste management facility in the UK. Your role is crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our site and supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Waste Transportation: Operate HGV vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver waste materials between designated locations.
  2. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and road traffic legislation.
  3. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on HGV vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  4. Route Planning: Plan efficient routes and schedules for waste collection and transportation to optimize time and resources.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all waste collections, deliveries, and incidents using a tablet.
  6. Customer Service: Provide excellent service to clients, address inquiries professionally, and ensure premises are left tidy with bins returned.
  7. Environmental Responsibility: Support recycling and waste diversion efforts to reduce environmental impact.
  8. Flexibility: Be available to work on various routes, including weekends and Bank Holidays, as required.
  9. Communication: Communicate effectively with the Administration team and report near misses or accidents promptly.
  10. PPE Compliance: Dress appropriately in work-issued PPE.
Qualifications
  1. Valid HGV Class 2 driver's license.
  2. CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  3. Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably in waste management or a related industry.
  4. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and tachograph legislation.
  5. Ability to drive or willingness to be trained on various vehicles (Skip, Hookloader, Trade Waste, FEL, Moffat).
  6. Excellent driving and navigation skills.
  7. Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  8. Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and customer service.
