Skin Cancer screening/Dermatology Nurse required for a Private Clinic in London

Overview

Dream Medical is working with an esteemed private client in London who are looking to recruit an experienced Skin Cancer/Dermatology Nurse. In this role you will work as part of the nurse practice team to deliver a high standard of skin cancer screening, advice, care, and support to patients. You will provide the first point of entry into our Dermatology Pathway and will be expected to demonstrate clinical and communication skills to a high standard with a commitment to improving the service through ongoing personal and professional development.

You will identify normal lesions as well as those that may be suspicious during mole screening, and you will support the dermatology pathway by referring to Dermatologists and assisting with minor procedures as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Take a comprehensive skin history and perform a full skin assessment on each patient, including dermoscopy where necessary.
  • Educate patients on how to protect their skin and care for skin diseases and conditions at home.
  • Ensure provision of high standards of care for patients and compliance with NICE Guidelines, BDNG Competencies, and the NMC Code.
  • Enhance quality of care by supporting changes in nursing practice based on evidence/research.
  • Work autonomously, plan and organise own workload to meet patient needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Clinic Policies & Procedures and participate in multidisciplinary team care.
  • Contribute to the Clinic Plan and help meet Clinic Objectives.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
  • Previous mole screening/dermatology experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT literacy.
  • Willingness to undertake educational programmes related to the post.
  • Willingness to support the wider nursing team with general nurse appointments when required.
  • Desirable: Degree or Master's level education and Dermatology qualification.
  • ECG capability.

This is a Part time role (30 Hours/4 days).
