An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Plastic Surgery Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)Team
As a Skin Cancer CNS your role is to provide comprehensive nursing support to patients and their carer's with a diagnosis of skin cancer. The ideal candidate will work as an autonomous clinical expert in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating expert nursing care given to skin cancer patients.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team and will need to be flexible and adaptable, a good team player with the ability to work well on their own initiative and willing to take on a variety of duties, whilst having the ability to maintain attention to detail.
The successful Candidate will need to have knowledge or experience within cancer services
Excellent communication skills will be required as well as the ability to work with different computer programmes.
This role will be across multi-sites working in our satellite clinics so the successful candidate will need to have access to a car and be able to drive.
Work autonomously to manage his/her own caseload of patients, whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team. Maintain effective communication with out patients, relatives and professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Provide support, verbal and written information on Skin cancer's newly referred patients and their families enabling patients to make an informed decision on their treatment.
Assess new and follow up patients in the nurse led clinics to identify their psychological, physiological, emotional needs in relation to their disease and treatment.
Travel to satellite clinics provided within Skin cancer and offer support and clinical knowledge to patients and their relatives.
Reporting to the Band 7 CNS and Matron on all aspects of clinical activities, including significant changes affecting provisions of nursing care.
