Job description

If you are a registered nurse with experience in Dermatology or Oncology, this is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge in this interesting and varied discipline.

We would love to hear from you if you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

We work very closely with the wider multidisciplinary team on a day-to-day basis, including Dermatologists, Medical and Clinical Oncologists, and Maxillofacial surgeons.

Our role is to provide specialist-level nursing management and support for patients throughout their skin cancer pathway—from diagnosis to surgery, treatments, or palliative management.

This post will be for 9 months, with the possibility to extend to 12 months.

This role requires an active UK NMC registration.

Base Location: Poole Hospital

  • The Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist will provide expert nursing care and psychosocial support for patients diagnosed with skin cancer (primary and metastatic disease) and their families.
  • To provide specialised clinical practice to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, multidisciplinary care for patients with skin cancer.
  • To act as a resource and provide specialist advice and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • To act as an advocate and provide ongoing support for patients and families.
  • To support the delivery of a comprehensive, nurse-led service that is holistic, evidence-based, and meets the individual needs of skin cancer patients.
