You will also support the successful delivery of other technical skills development projects related to ongoing skills partnerships, such as QuEST-FuSED - a new training delivery collaboration with STFC based at the OAS - to ensure a compliant and coordinated approach aligned with the UKAEA’s Skills Strategy. Additionally, you will be a key point of contact for the UKAEA with external partners and will have a strong understanding of the strategic and business context of skills partnerships, including their impact on local communities.

  • Coordinate, attend, take minutes, and action operational meetings.
  • Monitor progress against agreed partnership KPIs and manage the review process.
  • Report on progress to appropriate Governance Boards.
  • Ensure that appropriate corporate legal status, governance/financial procedures, and health and safety measures are all compliant and maintaining the appropriate audit trail.
  • Support the contract holder with relevant strategic development of the partnership.
  • Maintain oversight of projects, particularly estimate collation, planning, cost forecast, and monitoring, overall execution strategy delivery.
  • Evaluate and present decisions that secure the benefits the project is tasked to deliver.
  • Resolve obstacles to strategy delivery and lead the identification and employment of creative solutions to overcome them.
  • Oversee effective communication within the project and assist the sponsor through interactions with stakeholders, defining the project milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage project document development for a project lifecycle in compliance with the UKAEA's Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Report progress against milestones, changes, exceptions, budgets, and other key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that the project SHE culture and working practices are in alignment with UKAEA requirements.
  • Liaise with other Groups and Departments to ensure effective coordination and collaboration across interfaces and demands.

Strategic Development

  • Work alongside the Apprenticeships Project Manager to define strategic development and growth of existing or new skills partnerships in line with their mission and the UKAEA’s needs.
  • Administer the UKAEA Skills Forum and assist the Apprenticeships Project Manager with the development and implementation of the UKAEA’s Skills Strategy.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in the skills pipeline to ensure that the future UK fusion industry draws upon, utilises, and rewards a diverse workforce.

Additional

  • Promote the UKAEA’s values, championing a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure that your behaviour promotes the safety, health, and welfare of yourself and colleagues.
  • Contribute to improving best practices and quality standards within the team, division, and across the organization.
  • Work in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by management, consistent with the grade.
