We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.
North Ayrshire Council is creating temporary positions within our Skills for Life programme. The programme is funded by the Scottish Government and aims to support parents to gain training, skills, and experience.
Eligibility
To be considered for the post you must be a parent with a dependent child(ren) living with you, a North Ayrshire resident, and currently unemployed.
Interviews
North Ayrshire Council will hold interviews and a time will be allocated after you have successfully completed the application form and meet the eligibility criteria.
Registration
As part of the Skills For Life programme, you will be registered to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria prior to employment, in which you will be asked to provide ID and meet with support services. Registration will include:
In Work Support:
Mentor and In-Work support throughout the 26 weeks placement.
Disclosures
A PVG will be required for the post.
ID Requirements
When attending the interview, under the Asylum & Immigration Act and PVG disclosure, you will be required to provide ID documentation. We would require a Passport or Full birth certificate along with proof of N.I. Number for Asylum ID. For PVG, we require 3 forms of ID (1 being photographic); we can use the Asylum ID towards this.

PVG (Children)
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
Please note if you are the successful candidate, your name and email address will be entered into the Disclosure Scotland PVG system to generate your PVG form, which will be issued to your email with an enclosed link to complete.
