Job description
Overview

Are you an organised, people-focused professional who's passionate about creating high-quality learning environments? We're looking for a Skills Development Coordinator to help drive excellence across our training Centres.

In this exciting role, you'll play a key part in supporting Tutors, managing resources, and ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day. You'll champion high standards in health and safety, quality assurance, and staff development, helping Tutors deliver the best possible learning experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Quality Lead to support the development and maintenance of quality assurance and standardisation processes, ensuring consistency across all training and assessment activities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of Tutors, ensuring that they have the support and guidance needed to perform effectively, monitor their performance, and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Provide support for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes, assisting with the assessment and review of training quality and Tutor performance to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Ensure that Tutors are provided with up-to-date workbooks and learning resources, facilitating effective teaching and learning by meeting the needs of both Tutors and customers.
  • Support the planning and implementation of Observations of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (OTLAs), ensuring that Tutors are observed and provided with constructive feedback to enhance their professional development.
  • Conduct regular Centre walkthroughs to ensure all safety procedures are being followed, including fire safety checks and health & safety updates, and ensure compliance is recorded on Citation for documentation and monitoring purposes.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 English & Maths as a minimum
  • Education to Level 3 or above
  • Knowledge of DWP & SFA contracts
  • Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or working towards)
  • Appropriate teaching qualification at Level 5 e.g., PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of unemployed customers and young adults
  • Proven experience in managing and developing staff, with a focus on performance management, feedback, and team development
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes, including Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and Observations of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (OTLA)
  • Clean driving licence and full-time access to car as this role requires travel.
  • Overseas equivalent qualifications will be accepted.
