Job description

Do you have experience working with people with a learning disability? Are you passionate about driving change? If so, we may have the role for you within our Supported Internship team.

About the Role

We are offering one full-time (37.5 hours per week) and one part-time (22 hours per week) contract for a passionate and self-motivated Skills Coach to join our Supported Internship programme team in Ealing.

As a Skills Coach, you will play a central role in delivering our Mencap Training Academy. You will support learners with SEN to complete all elements of the programme, providing tailored support. The role is based in the community classroom of our supported internship programme, supporting learners with mild to moderate learning disabilities and difficulties.

Responsibilities
  • Be accountable for learner progression and ensuring young adults achieve skills necessary for paid employment.
  • Deliver support through various methods, including 1-1 job coaching, classroom activities to develop employability skills, and embedding English and Maths learning in the workplace.
  • Support learners to acquire skills for sustained paid employment.
