Job summary

National Theatre is seeking a Skills Centre Co-ordinator to join the Skills Centre Learning Team in London. You will support the delivery of courses and programmes, handling key administrative functions from set up to evaluation, while providing practical and pastoral support for participants and working with technical, design and craft specialists.

Job description

We are looking for a Skills Centre Coordinator to join the National Theatre Skills Centre Learning Team.

The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of Skills Centre courses and programmes, by providing key administrative functions, supporting the smooth and efficient delivery of projects from set up and recruitment through to evaluation.

The Skills Centre Co-ordinator will also provide practical and pastoral support for participants and support the technical, design and craft specialists leading activity.The role will work collaboratively with colleagues to support the existing programmes and new opportunities in line with the Skills Centre strategy and ambitions.The Skills Centre is based within the NT’s Learning department and works collaboratively with many other departments within the organisation to build, support, deliver and evaluate skills development activity across all areas of the NT’s work. The role is focused in the Skills Centre but will work with the wider Learning and the organisation teams as required for the operation of the programme and the wider development of the Skills Centre.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Wide ranging administrative experience in a professional organisation including experience of using Outlook, Word and Excel; Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams and database packages (experience in using the Airtable system would be especially welcome but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks within competing work demands and to meet deadlines.
  • An interest in creating career development opportunities in the creative sector, with a focus on diversity and inclusion and an understanding of the challenges that presents.
  • Knowledge of providing safeguarding and/or access support to participants.
  • Good understanding of technical theatre and production roles.
