Job Opportunity: Vehicle & Bodywork Engineer

NTM-GB Ltd is a well-structured and growing company that develops, manufactures, sells, and maintains Refuse Collection Vehicles. We are seeking an Engineer based at our workshop in Kidderminster. The primary responsibility is to repair specialist bodywork equipment and refuse collection vehicles to a high standard, with potential duties including attending to equipment repairs at customer sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience, preferably from the commercial vehicles or plant hire sectors, or relevant mechanical fitting and welding skills. An understanding of basic vehicle/plant electrics and hydraulics is desirable but not essential. HGV license and/or experience, along with welding skills, are advantageous. A willingness to learn, the ability to work within time constraints, and meet customer specifications are essential. A full driving license is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Repair body-mounted equipment.
2. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
3. Perform body refurbishment repairs.
4. Conduct MIG welding repairs on steelwork.
5. Ensure all jobs are completed to company standards and deadlines.
6. Work at customer premises when required.
7. Complete all relevant documentation related to daily work.

The role also requires maintaining good housekeeping practices, prioritizing personal health and safety, conducting risk assessments, and using Personal Protective Equipment appropriately.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will be professional, self-motivated, with a strong customer service ethos and problem-solving skills. Good communication, confidence, flexibility, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are vital. Organizational, time management, and administrative skills are also important.
