Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Skilled Mechanic to join a well-established engineering team responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles. The role includes servicing, diagnostics, repairs, inspections and breakdown support to ensure vehicles remain safe and operation-ready.

Candidates should hold NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and have experience on HGV/PSV or military vehicles, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
Experience working on HGV/PSV or military/commercial vehicles.
Mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of vehicle systems and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and carry out mechanical repairs, servicing, and component replacement.
Identify vehicle faults and determine repair methods.
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections.
Conduct fault finding and diagnostics using equipment.
Attend roadside breakdowns and recovery calls when required.
Perform road tests to verify repairs.
