The Student Center at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Skilled Trades Worker (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:


This position is responsible for providing general maintenance for the Student Center at Georgia State University.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Inspect buildings, fixtures, machines and other structural units, noting their need for repair.

  • Perform minor maintenance, such as cleaning or lubricating equipment.

  • Change interior lights/ ceiling tiles, and other general facility needs

  • Communicate when other plumbing/electrical/and HVAC needs require service.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:



  • High School diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. Must pass a criminal background check.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Knowledge in methods, practices, tools equipment, and materials used in performing general building maintenance.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.

  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds.
