Job summary

Collins Aerospace is expanding its HS Marston facility in Wolverhampton. We are seeking Skilled Fabricator/Sheet Metal Worker to join the production team, with training provided. You will work on mechanical assembly, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and testing before final inspections.

The role requires interpreting drawings, assembling in stages, and meeting targets while maintaining traceability and safety standards. Rotating shifts and ongoing training in welding are part of the job.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent vocational qualification in fabrication, mechanical or engineering subject.
  • Proven experience in hand fabrication.
  • Experience with sheet metal.
  • Experience working to high tolerance.
  • Familiarity with precision tools such as verniers, digital calipers or measuring gauges.
  • Experience in aerospace, motorsport or similar industries advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.

  • Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines.
  • Support ACE activities (5s, TPM, Turnbacks, Clinics).
  • Maintain LOT traceability and quality control.

  • Ensure working environment is clean, organised and company standards.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety requirements.

What You Will Do

Collins Aerospace is undergoing major expansion at our HS Marston Aerospace facility on Wobaston Road in Wolverhampton. As a result, we are looking for a number of Skilled Fabricator/Sheet Metal Worker to join the production team. This is a great opportunity for Fitters with the right skills to increase their capability and standards of work in a highly regulated environment where all training and support will be provided.

The role will involve mechanical assembly, sheet metal work, fabrication and general finessing of products made from aluminium and steel which are then welded and tested before final quality inspections.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly guidelines
  • Assemble and test productions through different stages
  • Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines

This role requires flexibility to work in rotating shifts:

  • Morning: 6:00 AM-1:45 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 6:00 AM-12:00 PM (Friday).
  • Afternoon: 2:00 PM-10:00 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 12:15 PM-5:15 PM (Friday).
