Job summary

Key Grp Limited is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join our team on commercial projects around Ossett. You will take pride in preparing and finishing surfaces to a high standard, with emphasis on taping and filling plasterboard joints.

You will work both independently and as part of a site crew, maintain clean and accurate records, and follow health and safety procedures to deliver quality finishes on time.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator in commercial, residential or industrial environments.
• Experience in taping, jointing and filling plasterboard.
• Strong surface preparation and finishing skills.
• Knowledge of different paint types, finishes and application methods.

Responsibilities

• Tape and fill plasterboard joints, corners and fixings.
• Apply jointing compounds and fillers to achieve a smooth finish.
• Sand and prepare completed areas for decoration.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding and applying primers or sealers.
• Fill cracks, holes and imperfections using suitable materials.
• Mix and apply paints, stains, varnishes and other coatings.
• Apply finishes using brushes, rollers or spraying equipment.
• Match colours and finishes to specifications.
• Protect surrounding areas using masking materials and dust sheets.
• Complete touch-ups and repairs as required.
• Inspect completed work for quality.
