Job summary

Yeo Valley Farms (Production) Ltd is recruiting machine operators for our Production and Blending areas in Somerset. Shifts run 18:00–06:00 on a 4 on 4 off pattern, with full training and a strong emphasis on safety.

You will operate filling and packing lines in Production or milk blending systems, perform quality checks, and collaborate with QA to meet daily targets. The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities to grow within a co-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling, sealing, coding and packing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Monitor product quality, packaging integrity and line performance.
• Complete routine checks and record results accurately.
• Work with Production and QA to maintain compliance and resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe working area in line with hygiene standards.
• Support changeovers, material replenishment and general line operations.
• Operate mixing/packing in Blending as required.

We have positions in both our Production areas & Blending area. - Standard shift patterns in both departments are 18:00 - 06:00 on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern.

Purpose of role - Production: Ensure yogurt is filled, sealed, coded and packed to the highest quality standards, supporting efficient line performance and meeting daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate filling, sealing, coding and packing machinery safely and efficiently
• Monitor product quality, packaging integrity and line performance throughout the shift
• Complete routine checks (weights, seals, codes, visual standards) and record results accurately
• Work closely with Production and QA to maintain compliance and resolve issues quickly
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area in line with hygiene standards

Support changeovers, material replenishment and general line operations.

Purpose of role - Blending: Support the safe, consistent and efficient production of yogurt by operating mixing systems, following recipes, and maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain milk mixing systems and associated equipment
• Follow mixing recipes and production schedules accurately
• Complete routine quality checks and maintain batch records
• Work closely with Production and QA to ensure consistency and compliance
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment
• Support inventory, stock rotation and general plant activities

• Relevant work experience as a Machine Operator in a production environment
