This role is part of the maintenance site services team at Solihull, responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective tasks on electrical equipment. The Technical Electrical Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining plant and equipment effectively, ensuring technical availability remains at 100%.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As the Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll perform reactive and proactive maintenance on electrical distribution systems across all facilities.

• Use a logical approach to fault finding to diagnose and repair control circuitry faults.
• Support initial and periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations to BS7671:2018.
• Conduct electrical equipment testing (formerly Portable Appliance Testing) following IET Code of Practice 5th Edition.
• Support servicing, testing, and maintenance of emergency lighting systems per BS EN 50172 / BS 5266.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with DSEAR & ATEX regulations.
• Identify new low voltage electrical distribution and equipment.
• Maintain environmental compliance and adhere to relevant legislation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Utilize your expertise as a skilled maintenance engineer to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and improve operational efficiency. You will need:

• Expert knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution systems.
• C&G Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations - BS7671:2018 including Amendment 2 (2382).
• Working knowledge of plant engineering and building services (HVAC, gas, water, air & electricity).
• Good knowledge of Building Management Systems.
• Knowledge of condition-based monitoring, predictive maintenance, MTBF, and MTTR principles.
• Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out, safe systems of work, and preventative maintenance processes.
• Flexibility to work shifts at short notice.
