Responsibilities

Setting up and running machines working accurately to customer requirements.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings with confidence.
Inspecting and checking components to ensure the highest quality standards.
Maintaining your workstation within the principles of 5S.
Running two machines in tandem where possible, boosting both efficiency and skill.
Following and helping to improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications

You’ll bring proven skill and confidence to the role — a fully trained machinist who can work independently, take initiative, and deliver accuracy at every stage of the process. From safe work handling to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, you take ownership and pride in your craft.

With a recognised Craft Apprenticeship, you’ll have the technical expertise to:

Use precision measuring equipment with accuracy.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Programme, set, and operate CNC lathes and vertical borers.
