Job summary

Leicester City Council is recruiting a skilled Landscape Operative to maintain and improve public spaces across Leicester. Based at Beaumont Park Depot, you’ll work on parks, housing estates, highways and schools, helping to keep green and hard landscape features safe and accessible.

You’ll supervise a small team and operate with health and safety in mind, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30–15:30. The fixed-term contract runs until 31 March 2027, with a generous leave entitlement and

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape construction or related construction work.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to the industry.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise team members, temporary staff and sub-contractors as required by the Team Manager.
• Work on sites including parks, housing estates, highways, schools and community centres, installing play areas and fences, establishing grass areas, meadows and planting schemes.
