Job Title: Skilled Labourer

Job Type: Temporary to permanent

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for maintaining and preparing void properties within the social housing sector. This includes tasks such as removing carpets, painting, cleaning, and general upkeep to ensure properties are ready for new tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Void Property Preparation: Remove carpets, underlay, and other floor coverings from void properties.
  2. Painting and Decorating: Carry out painting and decorating tasks to a high standard, ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared and finished.
  3. Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of properties, including kitchens, bathrooms, and communal areas.
  4. General Maintenance: Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required, such as fixing door handles, replacing light bulbs, and ensuring properties are safe and habitable.
  5. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  6. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of tools and materials, ensuring they are properly stored and accounted for.
  7. Customer Service: Interact professionally with tenants and colleagues, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the social housing sector is preferred.
  2. Skills: Proficient in painting, decorating, and general maintenance tasks. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  3. Attention to Detail: High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
  4. Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Working Conditions:

Environment: Work will primarily be conducted in void properties, which may vary in condition.

Hours: Full-time position with standard working hours. Some overtime or weekend work may be required.
