Search Consultancy is seeking a skilled Groundworker for an active civil engineering project in Newton Abbot. The role covers drainage, slab and kerb laying, concrete foundations, and general civils work on site with emphasis on safety and quality.

Applicants should hold a CSCS card and plant tickets are desirable. Right to work in the UK is required, with immediate starts available through a reputable regional contractor. Competitive weekly pay and steady opportunities across the West Country.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card (Skilled Groundworker/Blue Card preferred).
• Plant tickets (CPCS/NPORS for Forward Tipping Dumper, Ride-on Roller, or Excavator) desirable.
• Proven track record in general groundworks, drainage, and external works on construction or civils sites.
• Full standard 5-point PPE and basic hand tools.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Drainage & Utilities: assisting with pipe laying, trenching, backfilling and drainage installations.
• Slab & Kerb Laying: laying kerbs, edgings, block paving and flagstones with precise alignments.
• Concrete & Foundations: shuttering, pouring and finishing concrete for foundations and footings.
• General Civils: site prep, excavation support and operating small site plant as required.
• Site Safety: adhering to RAMS, safe digging practices and utility avoidance protocols.
