Job description

Join Our Team as a Vehicle Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to help keep our fleet on the road. If you're ready to advance your engineering skills and make a meaningful impact in our community, apply today with your updated CV.

In this role, you'll be responsible for vehicle fault diagnostics, servicing, and repairs following FirstBus Standard Engineering Operating Procedures. You'll also ensure compliance with HS&E legislation, group policies, and standard operating procedures. We will provide all necessary tools, equipment, and overalls.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay rate, with an additional 20p/hour if you have a PCV license from day one.
  • Opportunity for pay increases through training modules, potentially adding up to £5,000 annually after completing 10 modules, each increasing pay by 20p/hour.
Working Hours
  • Rotating shifts, 5 days out of 7, including weekends.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds Level 1 & 2).
  • Ability to multi-skill within an engineering environment.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Desirable: PCV license; ability to obtain one is essential.
