Job description

Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Marshalls Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) and their team of Skilled Electrical Installers. You will be responsible for manufacturing and installing electrical circuits and communication systems into mobile workspaces and various electrical products and equipment, based at their facility in Cambridge (postcode CB5 8RX).

You will play an important role in high-profile military projects. Your ideas and contributions will be valued in a business that truly cares about its people. Training will be provided on the products, with opportunities for further development and progression within the company.

Rates:
  • STANDARD: £25.92/hour PAYE (holiday pay included) or £35.66/hour Umbrella
  • Over 37 hours: £38.88/hour PAYE or £53.49/hour Umbrella
  • SUNDAYS: £51.84/hour PAYE or £71.31/hour Umbrella *role is inside IR35*

Duration: 6-12 months (with potential for extension and permanent roles)

Hours: 7:15 am – 3:45 pm, Monday to Thursday, with a half-day finish on Fridays

Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture, assemble, and build Land Systems projects using engineering drawings and design data, ensuring compliance with BS7671 standards
  • Install electrical cabling and wiring into specialized containers
  • Perform wiring tasks such as loom building, crimping, braiding, soldering, and wire cutting/preparation
  • Complete tasks within designated timeframes
  • Maintain production processes and procedures
  • Follow health and safety management systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lean and 5S procedures, maintaining a clean and compliant work area
  • Attend production meetings as required
  • Enter job bookings into the ERP system
Experience:
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits and single/three-phase supplies
  • Experience building looms and harnesses with military connectors
  • Skills in soldering, crimping, and low-gauge wiring
  • Experience with intricate panel wiring
  • Background in automotive, industrial, defence, military, or engineering sectors encouraged
Qualifications:
  • 18th Edition
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • City & Guilds 2365 Level 2/3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
  • IPC-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
  • High-potential candidates without these qualifications but eager to learn will also be considered
