Job summary

Dover Precision Components, part of Waukesha Bearings, seeks a Skilled CNC Operator for a fully integrated CAM facility. You will operate CNC turning, milling and grinding to produce customised designs from steel, copper, brass, aluminium and bronze.

Annual salaries are based on a 37‑hour week, Monday to Friday, with rotating early/back shifts (£44,919.62) or night shift (£52,452.37). Benefits include productivity bonuses, pension up to 13%, life insurance and 25 days holiday, plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in machining or SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Min 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in lean manufacturing.
• Experience with multi-axis milling, turning or grinding on Correa/Doosan or similar.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas controls.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances (<0.0025mm) and use precision inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Read process sheets, blueprints and sketches to determine machining requirements.
• Locate and download programs from DNC system; select proper tooling.
• Calculate feeds and speeds for various steels and alloys; edit or write programs.
• Ensure quality inspections and lean manufacturing principles to reduce setup times.
• Inspect final components and prepare parts for shipment.
