Job summary

Samworth Brothers is seeking a production operative to join our meat processing team in Leicester. You will follow the daily plan, operate equipment in the butchery area, and ensure products meet spec sheets and company standards.

You'll ensure traceability by checking tag details, collecting meat from the chiller, and performing essential quality and stock control checks, including temperature and packaging integrity.

Responsibilities

• Work to a daily production plan and operate butchery equipment (Mincer, Mixer, Dicer) according to specs and company standards.
• Collect meat from the chiller, verify tag details (species, supplier codes, date codes), and complete traceability paperwork.
• Check product temperature, use-by dates, visual quality, packaging conditions, and manage stock rotation and storage.

Job Responsibilities

• Work to a production plan of what is required that day, prepare and process fills in accordance with specification sheets and company standards. The role includes operating the machinery in the butchery area (Mincer, Mixer, Dicer).
• Collect meat from chiller, check tag details (species, supplier codes, date codes), complete traceability paperwork and physically check the products at every process check.
• Conduct various checks such as product temperature, use by dates, visual quality, packaging conditions for all stock, and put stock away into chillers and freezers and manage stock rotation.
