Job summary

Walter Smith Fine Foods Ltd in Huntingdon (Blue Diamond Garden Centre) is seeking an experienced skilled butcher to join our established team. You will support day-to-day shop operations, contribute to innovative, award-winning products, and work closely with the Shop Manager and Butchery and Delicatessen team.

The role demands proven retail butcher experience, commercial awareness, and a passion for product development.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the shop and help drive performance.
• Work closely with the Shop Manager and Butchery/Delicatessen team to maintain high standards in all aspects of butchery and display.

Job description

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced skilled Butcher to join our established and highly skilled team working at our Huntingdon shop located within the exceptional Blue Diamond Garden Centre, supporting the day to day running of the shop, helping to drive performance and contribute to developing innovative, award winning quality products.

Working closely with the Shop Manager and the Butchery and Delicatessen team, you will be fully competent in all aspects of butchery with excellent butchery and display standards, providing premium quality products and service to our valued customers.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a skilled butcher in a busy retail environment
• Commercial awareness and confidence balancing shop performance with customer service
• Passion for product development and delivering premium quality produce
• Drive, enthusiasm and pride in high standards.

This position is full-time permanent, based on working 42.5 hours per week across 5 days on a 7 day rota. Pay from £33,000pa depending upon experience.
