Job summary

A prominent Academy in London seeks a Sixth Form Student Supervisor and Behaviour Officer to maintain an effective study environment and support student behaviour. Sixth Form Student Supervisor and Behaviour Officer

Summary

We are seeking to appoint a Sixth Form Student Supervisor and Behaviour Officer as soon as possible to join our team to work within our high performing Academy.

Main Areas of Responsibility

The main purpose of the Student Supervisor and Behaviour Officer is to maintain a purposeful study environment in the Sixth Form Study Centre and Study Base through monitoring students and administering the study support system.

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Understanding of health, safety and security requirements in a learning environment
  • Awareness of the SEN Code of Practice
  • Familiarity with strategies to recognise and reward student achievements and self-reliance
  • Basic first aid knowledge (e.g. emergency first aid course)
  • Awareness of ADHD and other learning barriers
  • Understanding of social issues affecting students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Appropriate academic qualifications
  • Training in reception procedures
  • Knowledge of academy behaviour systems, including detention procedures
  • Training on Bromcom behaviour module
  • At least one year's experience working in an inner-city school or educational establishment
  • Experience in a similar role, supporting children in a classroom environment
  • Experience using IT to support students in the classroom
  • Experience with reception duties and dealing with visitors professionally
  • Experience taking telephone messages from a range of stakeholders
  • Experience using Bromcom behaviour module
  • Experience administering behaviour systems, including communication with parents/carers and staff
