Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Sixth Form Learning Mentor to support 16–19 year‑old students in a Watford based secondary school. The role combines academic mentoring with pastoral support and supervising independent study, with a focus on attendance, punctuality and engagement.

You will mentor students individually and in small groups, helping them develop revision and organisation skills while assisting those facing barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting 16–19‑year‑old students.
• Experience in a Sixth Form/college or post‑16 setting is advantageous.
• Degree or Level 4 qualification desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group mentoring to Sixth Form students.
• Support students with academic progress, attendance, punctuality and engagement.
• Supervise students during independent and directed study sessions.
• Help students develop effective revision, organisation, time‑management and independent study skills.
• Support SEND and disadvantaged students to overcome barriers to achievement.
