Chester Central Primary Care Network is seeking a GP to join on a six-month fixed-term salaried contract starting January 2027. The role involves working across up to three practices with no home visits required, providing face-to-face and telephone consultations, and making autonomous clinical decisions within the team.
The PCN supports a diverse patient group and offers NHS pension, BMA contract compliance, and training opportunities.
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) form a key building block of the NHS long-term plan. Bringing general practices together to work at scale has been a policy priority for some years for a range of reasons, including improving the ability of practices to recruit and retain staff; to manage financial and estates pressures; to provide a wider range of services to patients and to more easily integrate with the wider health and care system
Following the release of ARRS GP funding we are looking for a GP, to join Chester Central Primary Care Network on a six month fixed term salaried contact. We will consider applications for a minimum of four sessions with a start date of January 2027, but are prepared to wait for the right candidate.
As a reflection of the lower sessional rate the post holder will not be required to complete home visits or duty doctor (on call) duties.
Our clinical system for all practices is EMIS Web and we have a structured administrative team to help with letters, results, medication management, etc.
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group
We reserve the right to close the application early, so would encourage early application
Chester Central PCN is a well established PCN, delivering excellent care to over 41,000 patients across the city of Chester. We have six practices, four of which are in one building, The Elms Medical Practice, Fountains Medical Practice, Northgate Medical Centre and Northgate Village Surgery, with Garden Lane Medical Centre and St. Werburghs practice for the homeless within a short walking distance.
We have a number of excellent additional roles (ARRS) within our PCN including social prescriber link workers, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, paramedics, dieticians, and physiotherapists which offer additional patient services and allow the Doctors to focus on patient care and signpost to the most relevant colleague or team.
We have two clinical directors who work closely together and a PCN Manager, who manages the day to day needs of the PCN and together offer a strong leadership team.
The practices within the PCN have all secured a rating of GOOD by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The PCN is an established limited company having moved to this model in 2023.
