SITS Consultant (HESA / Statutory Reporting Focus)

Permanent | Remote | up to £65k

Are you an expert in HESA returns and statutory student data reporting? Do you understand the pressure and precision involved in getting it right — and on time?

We’re working with a forward-thinking organisation that has ambitious plans for the future.

They've got a number of higher education providers who are looking for skilled professionals to support their reporting capabilities to HESA. Whether you’ve working on statutory reporting or have been an SME for Data Futures strand implementation, your experience will help institutions navigate compliance, enhance data quality, and meet critical regulatory deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting institutions with preparation and submission of HESA Student / Data Futures returns
  • Advising on statutory reporting processes, data validation, and quality assurance
  • Working alongside data teams, academic registries, and product teams to develop solutions
  • Troubleshooting errors and optimising processes to ensure compliant, accurate reporting
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external regulators when needed

What We’re Looking For (Essential)

  • Hands on experience with SITS student record system
  • Proven experience working on HESA returns (Student, Unistats, Staff, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of HE data structures, quality assurance, and governance
  • Great communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and eagerness to learn
