A reputable educational institution in Peterborough is seeking an Apprentice Site Technician to join its Facilities team. The role focuses on ensuring the care, maintenance, and security of the Academy building and its equipment. Candidates should have strong communication and teamwork skills. The position offers a supportive environment to pursue apprenticeship qualifications and requires a shift rotation between 7:00am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Required for September 2025, we are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Site Technician to join our hard-working and dedicated Facilities team. The successful candidate will ensure the security, care and availability of the Academy building, furniture, fittings and equipment; to ensure a satisfactory physical environment. The role is incredibly varied and the successful candidate will contribute to the maintenance, cleanliness and security of the site. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and team work skills, as well as a good attention to detail.
The successful candidate will work on a shift rotation Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00am – 6:30pm. The contract will be fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship.
We will support the successful candidate to complete either a Level 2 Facilities services operative apprenticeship or a Level 3 Facilities management supervisor apprenticeship course as appropriate/dependent on experience. This will be discussed at interview.
The Academy
Ormiston Bushfield Academy is a good school (OFSTED – December 2019), conveniently located close to the Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire & Lincolnshire borders, and benefits from excellent road and rail links.
The Academy is continuing to expand and due to its popularity and increasing student numbers, a new £6 million wing was opened in September 2018. This extension is an addition to the £20.6 million state-of-the-art building that was completed September 2012, giving every student the opportunity to learn in an exciting and inspiring environment at an Academy that has been recognised for its high standards of inclusion.
