Woodlands School, part of Marches Academy Trust, is seeking a caring, resourceful, reliable, self-motivated individual to take pride in our school premises and grounds. We are a special school for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs, with high expectations and aspirations for every child and young person.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for Health & Safety and Security of the school site, including locking and unlocking the school every day during term time and some weeks of the holidays
• Maintaining the school in an excellent condition both externally and internally
• Managing external contractors, servicing works and small projects
• Monitoring site stock and ordering supplies
• Minor repairs to include minor plumbing, joinery, electrical work, internal decoration and maintenance, painting and decorating
• Communicating effectively with a range of people including children, staff, visitors and external agencies

Requirements:

• Have experience of working in a security, safety or maintenance environment
• Have experience of Health & Safety, COSHH, IOSH
• Be able to show a knowledge of other trades e.g. plumbing, carpentry
• Be able to work constructively using own initiative in the absence of senior staff
