Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Site Technician, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.26 - £16.82 per hour

Summary:

To manage the site on behalf of Property Services, working closely with the residential team to ensure that the children's residential unit is safe, compliant, and well-maintained. The role involves carrying out minor repairs, maintenance, and overseeing site compliance to ensure a safe and suitable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Undertake minor repairs and routine maintenance across the site to ensure the building and grounds are safe, secure, and functional.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory building checks (e.g., fire safety, water safety, health & safety requirements).
  • Act as the main point of contact for property-related matters, liaising with contractors and Property Services when specialist work is required.
  • Support the residential team in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Carry out site inspections, report defects, and maintain accurate records of work completed and compliance checks.
Qualifications:
  • Good standard of education.
Requirements:
  • Relevant vocational training or equivalent practical experience in building/site maintenance.
  • Previous experience in building/site maintenance or a similar facilities role.
  • Practical skills in carrying out minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, joinery, decorating, basic electrical tasks).
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and statutory compliance checks.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with residential staff, contractors, and external services.
