Wates has an opportunity for a Site Surveyor to join our Reactive Division. You will work from our Finsbury office on one of our contracts. The role focuses on producing commercial outputs, monitoring and exercising cost control, and liaising with client representatives to ensure compliance with contractual service standards, ensuring the company operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Develop and encourage project team performance, ensuring Wates’ main contractual obligations and strategies are executed and reviewed regularly.
  2. Complete and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and progress reports.
  3. Understand internal and external tender strategies and work towards the profit plan.
  4. Agree on external valuations and cash flow to maximize project value.
  5. Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to produce main and subcontract final accounts.
  6. Ensure all subcontract management and process obligations are met, including Procurement, Measurement and Valuation, Contractual instructions, notices, orders, and Health and Safety.
Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone with financial and commercial awareness, committed to customer-centered service.

Successful candidates will have relevant commercial skills and experience, including maximizing value recovery, cost control, cash management, and understanding financial reports and software.

The role requires confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, project surveyors, internal teams, and supply chain partners. The position is based between the office and site, with some home working.
