Site Support/Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Site Support/School Caretaker to join our school based in Harrow. The ideal candidate will ensure the school premises are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the school and providing a welcoming environment for the students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks across the school premises.
• Greet children and parents in the morning when they arrive at school.
• Ensure all areas of the school are safe and secure, including locking and unlocking buildings and checking security systems.
• Carry out minor repairs and liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance issues.
• Maintain outdoor spaces, including playgrounds and sports fields.
• Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities.
• Monitor and manage heating, lighting, and other utility systems.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and unexpected situations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role.
• Previous experience working in a school.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual tasks.
• Flexibility to work outside regular school hours when necessary.

Must have a valid Fully Enhance DBS Certificate.

Flexible Shift Pattern: 6.30am to 2.30pm, 8am to 4pm and 12pm to 8pm. (initial shift start 8am to 4pm)

Temporary to Permanent basis.
