Site Supervisor - Water Metering

Location: Thames Valley area.

Contract Type: Contract to permanent

Working Hours: 45 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with potential weekend or on-call duties

Job Overview

My client, a leading main contractor, is looking for Site Supervisors to oversee metering operatives on a water project in the Thames Valley area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a plumbing background to step into a key management role within the water sector. Some training will be provided, but candidates must have relevant qualifications, team management experience, and mentoring skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and manage metering operatives to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
2. Oversee health & safety compliance and ensure all work follows industry regulations.
3. Complete permit sign-offs and conduct van audits as required.
4. Verify training certifications and ensure all plant and equipment are safe to use.
5. Carry out site audits and PPE checks to maintain compliance.
6. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to operatives, ensuring high performance and development.
7. Plan and organise daily workloads, ensuring efficient scheduling and resource management.
8. Address customer issues professionally, following company guidelines.

Requirements

1. Plumbing background, with relevant qualifications.
2. Previous team management and mentoring experience within the water or utilities sector (ideally clean water).
3. Water Hygiene certification (desirable).
4. Full UK driving licence.
