Key Responsibilities

• Organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment and absence management.
• Manage all other resources e.g. materials and plant.
• Coach and develop staff to reach their potential.
• Carry out team briefings with teams.
• Monitor staff performance to specification and working instructions.
• Liaise with the client and other job associated people, including:
• Arranging and attending programme meetings.
• Meeting clients’ requirements in a cost-effective way.
• Giving client progress updates.
• Meeting councils, surveyors, site managers and client’s staff as required.
• Maximising plant and vehicle utilisation.
• Managing, controlling and reducing wastage of materials.
• Take ownership of overall process – think ahead, determine and implement efficient methods of working.
• Taking care of plant responsibility.
• Liaise with and manage sub-contractors working on the contract. Ensure all subcontractors adhere to the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Act as a Health & Safety Representative, including conducting safety inspections, raising safety concerns, and investigating accidents or incidents.
• Use the GARD system continuously to organise works, reduce costs, and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Control plant sheets by ensuring accurate logging and collation of information.

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience in Utilities.
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
